This year we went behind the screams and met some of the scare actors and actresses. We also had the opportunity to meet some of the management and the Scarizona media man. It is so great to see another family owned and operated Haunted Attraction. Madison the manager told me they do work for the haunt because they love it and not for the money. You could feel the love and passion in the air as they get ready for a night of fright. What a cool crew of monsters and ghouls. Then we spent time in the haunt’s midway area watching the different characters roam and scare the daylights out of the customers. I love watching the midway characters and seeing them work the crowd. The amazing Devil was there breathing fire and scaring patrons as they entered the large circus tent.
The first maze of Scarizona was STARTLED DARKNESS and this haunted house is extremely dark, be prepared for total darkness. It is completely dark with only your imagination and mind that plays the tricks on you with some other tricks and things that go bump in the night hiding in every corner, nook, and cranny of the darkness. You never know what is lurking in the depths of the unsettling dark.
Next is MAYHEM IN THE MADNESS and this haunted house is all about chaos, disorder, bedlam, and havoc. In this maze you come across all kinds of madness and creatures creating chaos with the maze at every turn. You enter a blacklight maze that leads into a graveyard with stalled vehicles all over like an abandoned junkyard of the dead. Lots of cool animatronics that work and there are great places for the actors to hide and scare customers from. The makeup and masks really made the whole haunt come to life along with the acting and improvisation.
This was a very entertaining experience and I loved seeing all of it from behind the screams. It really does make you appreciate everything more and all the hard work that goes into making a great haunt.
We stayed there for awhile longer to watch the midway characters, because it was entertaining watching them chase people around and to watch The Devil do his fire breathing and banging on his drum on top of his truck. What a night full of screams and even some crying from being so afraid. Good job everyone at Scarizona and thank you for having us!
